Dear NAfME Member:
We hope you will join us at this year’s Music Education Week event in Baltimore from June 22 to June 25. This annual event is an opportunity to connect with fellow music educators, leaders from your state, and staff from the national NAfME office.
The professional development offerings are two-day intensive sessions led by outstanding clinicians like Peter Boonshaft, Martin Norgaard, Rodney Eichenberger, Jamie Knight, Willie Hill, and Lalene Kay. We will have performances each day including the Jen Krupa-Leigh Pilzer Quintet, “The President’s Own” U.S. Marine Band, the NAfME All-National Honor Ensembles, and the Capitol Steps. Because we know that networking and down-time is important, too, we have planned a welcome reception on Friday, a pre-concert reception on Saturday, and the President’s Luncheon on Sunday. Every day, our 130,000 member-strong association is orchestrating success for students, music educators and music education supporters. With 52 federated state associations and a network of subject specific societies and councils, we are working tirelessly to educate, energize and elevate America’s students through participation in high-quality music education programs.
At NAfME we are committed to serving music teachers, our students, and the entire profession, through relationship-building, resource development and the creation of other tools that help support excellent music teaching. We know that music education has a positive impact on learning -- with benefits that go far beyond the school. Music Education Week is one of the many ways we help our members orchestrate success.
I hope to see you in Baltimore!
Sincerely,

Michael A. Butera
