A Word from the Founder:
“If we strive to cultivate musical sensitivity and perception in our students, we must likewise give adequate recognition for their efforts and achievements, and we must inspire them to strive for higher goals. In what better way than by bestowing upon them life membership in a worldwide honorary organization for musical youth?”
- Alexander Harley, Founder, Tri-M Music honor Society

Spotlight on Buena High School in Sierra Vista, AZ!!!
On March 1, we had a free mini music camp (we called it the Mini Music Masters Camp) for 6-9th grade choir singers and band students who wanted to come to Buena High School in Sierra Vista, AZ for an entire morning of rehearsals, workshops and camaraderie. Out Tri-M students ran the entire camp. There were separated choir and band tracts for the students to follow with our high school Tri-M students directing. The two tracts came together for a 45 minute drumming session as a separate workshop led by the assistant band director, Brad Gallant. At the end of our camp, we had a parent presentation where the students performed for the parents what they had worked on in rehearsals during the morning. Our band and choir students directed the students. We also passed out some of the music advocacy pamphlets to all the parents, found on the NAfME website.
It was a great morning, a great experience for the Tri-M students, and a fun rewarding day for all the 6-9th grade music campers!
